Blue Swimming Crab

The blue swimming crab are caught by independent Indonesian fishermen in small artisanal boats. As the crabs are netted while swimming near the surface no damage is done to the bottom habitat in this fishery. Along with the small locally based picking plants, this fishery employs tens of thousands of people along the coasts of the Java Sea and Sumatran coast. The picked meat is sorted, canned and pasteurized with attention to the stringent sanitary and safety standards in HACCP compliant, BRC accredited factories. The production is monitored and inspected daily by Atlantica's QC team.

Artisanal net caught crab in the Gulf of Thailand and in Vietnam  are steam cooked upon landing.  After picking, sorting and pasteurizing, they are frozen.
